About this game
Pokémon The Last Fire Red is a ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed by RomsPrid that keeps the original Kanto story and rebuilds the engine around later-generation mechanics. It layers the physical/special split, the Fairy type, Mega Evolution, Z-Moves and Dynamax onto the 2004 original, opens the Pokédex to roughly the first seven generations of creatures, and adds a DexNav, a day/night and season cycle, an expanded bag and a 24-box PC. Trainers use their own EV spreads and smarter decision-making, and a hard mode is included. The finished build was released in 2021 and is distributed as a patch applied to a clean FireRed ROM.
